Fernando Torres to miss Spain's Euro 2008 qualifiers

Striker Fernando Torres will miss Spain's Euro 2008 qualifiers against Latvia on Saturday and Liechtenstein next week after straining his ankle during training. The 23-year-old sustained the injury after a challenge from Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos. Espanyol striker Luis Garcia is expected to replace Torres in the Spain squad. Spain are third in Group F with nine points from five games, three points behind Sweden and four adrift of leaders Northern Ireland who have played a game more.
