Portugal wins over Belgium in Euro 2008 qualifiers

Helder Postiga scored a 62nd-minute winner for Portugal to beat Belgium 2-1 in a European Championship qualifier last Saturday. Nani, scored in the 42nd minute, the first goal for Portugal, after finishing a dribbling run with a right-foot shot that goalkeeper Stijn Stijnen couldn't keep out. Then Belgium had equalized in the 54th minute with a strong header off a cross by Steven Dufour to beat Portugal goalkeeper Ricardo by midfielder Marouane Fellani. Eight minutes later, Postiga collected a loose ball to hit a 25-meter shot past Stijnen taking Portugal to the winning side.

Poland leads Group A with 19 points from eight matches. Portugal and Serbia are tied for second with 14 points and have a game in hand, while Belgium has only seven points from seven games. The remaining match for Serbia is with Belgium and Portugal with Poland
