Czech striker David Lafata, suffering from a torn back muscle, is likely to miss their 2008 Group D qualifier matches against San-Marino and Ireland. Lafata, got injured during an Austrian championship match between his side Austria Vienna and Salzburg last Sunday and the striker is expected to be on the sidelines for six weeks leaving his participation in the September 8th and 12th euro qualifiers. Lafata, who scored a brace for the Czech Republic against Wales in a Euro 2008 qualifer in September 2006, has played four times for his country under the guidance of Karel Bruckner.
